Hello everyone!!
My name is Annyk-Perrine Bapambe, but you can call me Perrine. I’m a model, artist, creative strategist, and an International Relations student with a passion for fashion and culture especially when they intersect. I love analyzing the cultural roots behind fashion trends, particularly those tied to the Black diaspora. I dig deep into the history, identity, and stories that influence and shape the trends we see today.
My journey into fashion started behind the camera as a spectator, drawn to the artistry and storytelling that fashion embodies. Observing the industry up close made me realize there’s so much more than just aesthetics it’s a reflection of culture, identity, and history that often goes unexplored. This curiosity led me to dive in first through working on a media page on Instagram and then through modeling, where I began exploring fashion’s deeper narratives.
After reflecting on topics that truly excite me, I’m now launching this blog to expand on that vision. A space where fashion and African culture/diaspora meet, unpacking how history, identity, and storytelling shape today’s trends. Whether it’s breaking down the latest styles through a cultural lens or highlighting underrepresented voices in fashion, this blog reflects my world a place where creativity, heritage, and style intertwine to inspire free thinking.
Let’s redefine fashion and give credit to culture together!
